Reelipse exists because deciding what to watch shouldn’t take five tabs.
Before a film, most of us check one site for the rating, another for the cast, a forum for whether there’s a post-credits scene, a blog for the watch order, and a streaming search for where it’s playing. Then we ask a friend anyway.
Reelipse puts all of that on one page, for every film and TV series catalogued on TMDB, well over a million titles, and adds a plain verdict and recommendations that say why they match.
What we believe
- Decisions, not data dumps. Every page starts with the answer: Absolute Cinema, Worth the Hype, Popcorn Flick or Snoozefest.
- Always current. Trending, in-cinemas and coming-soon lists refresh every half hour.
- World cinema is cinema. Browse 15 languages, from Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada to Korean and Japanese, with Hollywood treated as equal rather than default.
- Honest data. Every score, verdict and streaming listing comes from a named source. We never invent ratings.
Where the data comes from
Film and TV details, episode guides, posters, cast, scores, recommendations and age ratings come from TMDB, a community-built movie database. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Streaming availability is provided by JustWatch through TMDB.
How verdicts are made
Verdicts translate TMDB’s viewer score into a decision: Absolute Cinema at 7.9 and above, Worth the Hype from 7 to 7.8, Popcorn Flick from 6 to 6.9, and Snoozefest below 6. A film needs at least 40 ratings before it gets a verdict, so brand-new releases show “New” until enough people have seen them.
How we find similar films
“Movies like” lists and Blend start with the films that Trakt’s viewers watch together, then add TMDB’s recommendations and films it rates as similar in story and genre. Every pick says which signal put it there. Related-film data comes from Trakt; this product uses Trakt but is not endorsed or certified by Trakt.
