Privacy policy
Last updated 23 October 2026
Reelipse is built to need as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
What stays on your device
Your watchlist, watched films and personal verdicts are saved in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device unless you choose to share a watchlist link. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
What we collect
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data (IP address, browser type, page requested, time) to keep the site secure and running. Logs are kept for a limited period.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, which pages people visit and how they find us. It collects data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and sets first-party cookies to tell visits apart. See how Google uses this data, or opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Messages you send us. If you contact us by email, we keep your message and address to reply.
Cookies
We don’t set advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) to measure visits. You can block or delete them in your browser settings without breaking the site.
Third-party links and content
Links to IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Letterboxd, JustWatch and YouTube take you to sites with their own privacy policies. Posters and some data may load from The Movie Database (TMDB); your browser contacts TMDB’s image servers when those images display.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Email hello@reelipse.com and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Children
Reelipse is a general-audience site. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We’ll post any changes on this page and update the date above.
