How do I start a watch party?

Press Start a watch party, pick what you’re watching if you like, and share the link. Friends open it, allow their camera and mic if they want, and join. No sign-up, app or browser extension is needed.

How do we watch Netflix together online?

Choose Any OTT. Each person opens the film on their own Netflix (or Prime Video, JioHotstar, SonyLIV, ZEE5) account on their laptop, phone or TV, scrubs to the time on the party clock and pauses. Press Countdown and play: everyone sees 3, 2, 1, Play! at the same moment and presses play. Pause, snack breaks and jumps are shared the same way.

Is Reelipse Watch Party free?

Yes. Watch Party is free, with no sign-up and no limit on how long you watch. You only need your own subscription to the streaming service you watch on.

Can I screen share Netflix or Prime Video?

No. Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar and most paid streaming services block screen capture, so a shared screen shows black. Use Any OTT mode instead: everyone streams from their own account and the party clock keeps you in sync. Screen share works for anything without that protection.

How many people can join a watch party?

It works best with up to 8 people. Video calls go directly between devices, so every extra camera adds upload for everyone; for bigger groups, turn cameras off and keep voice and chat.

Can I watch on my TV and use Watch Party on my phone?

Yes, and it works well. Play the film on your TV’s app and keep Watch Party open on your phone for the countdown, face cams, reactions and chat. Movie-mode mic keeps the TV audio out of the call.

Is my watch party private?

Parties are peer to peer: video, voice and chat travel encrypted between your devices and never go through a Reelipse server. Only people with your party link can join, and the host can lock the party once everyone is in.

Do I need to install an extension?

No. Watch Party runs in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac and Linux, so it works on phones where extension-based watch parties can’t.
